Urbanx ("Urbanx", "we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your information when you use the Urbanx mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App"). By using the App, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1) Information We Collect
- Account & Profile Data: Name, email, phone number, profile photo, and preferences you provide when you sign up or update your profile.
- Location Information: With your permission, we collect precise or approximate location derived from GPS, Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, and cell towers to enable location-based features (e.g., nearby services, delivery, ride/driver matching, on‑map experiences). You can manage permissions in your device settings.
- Usage & Device Data: App interactions, feature usage, crash logs, performance data, device identifiers, device type, OS version, language, time zone.
- Transactional Data: Orders, carts, service bookings, dates/times, items, prices, taxes, and limited payment metadata. Note: Payments are processed by third‑party providers; we do not store full card numbers.
- Communications: Messages you send to support, feedback, ratings, and reviews.
2) How We Use Information
- Operate, maintain, and improve the App and its features.
- Provide personalized content, search results, and recommendations.
- Enable location-dependent functionality, routing, and service availability.
- Process and fulfill transactions, orders, and bookings; provide receipts and customer support.
- Send important service updates, security alerts, and—where permitted—promotional messages (you can opt out of marketing at any time).
- Monitor for fraud, abuse, and safety risks; enforce our terms and comply with legal obligations.
- Perform analytics, debugging, and research to improve performance and reliability.
3) How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data in these scenarios:
- Service Providers: Trusted vendors that process data on our behalf (e.g., payments, mapping, delivery/logistics, customer support, analytics) under confidentiality agreements.
- Business Partners: When you use services offered jointly with partners (e.g., merchants, drivers), we share what is necessary to provide the requested service.
- Legal & Safety: If required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, and property of users, the public, or Urbanx.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, data may be transferred as part of the transaction.
4) Location Data
- We request your consent before accessing device location. Some features may require background location to function reliably (e.g., live trip tracking). You can change your choice anytime via your device settings.
- We use location to show nearby services, estimate arrival times, match riders and drivers, and enable deliveries. We do not disclose precise location to unaffiliated third parties for their independent marketing.
- If you disable location, certain features may be limited or unavailable.
Tip: Manage location permission in Settings → Apps → Urbanx → Permissions → Location. Options may include Allow once, While using the app, or Don’t allow.
5) Data Security
We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. Despite these measures, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6) Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the App, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Where possible, we anonymize or aggregate data.
7) Your Rights & Choices
- Access, correct, or delete your account information.
- Withdraw consent (e.g., for location or marketing) at any time.
- Opt out of marketing communications using in‑app controls or unsubscribe links.
- Request a copy of your data, where applicable.
Your rights may vary depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA). We will honor valid requests consistent with applicable law and may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.
8) Third‑Party Links & Services
The App may link to or integrate third‑party sites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We encourage you to review those policies before interacting with them.
9) Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the age required by applicable law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10) International Data Transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than where you reside. When we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards permitted by law.
11) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the Effective Date above. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
